According to him, the process of release of prisoners is often used by scammers that go to relatives for the sake of obtaining improper benefits.
“We have a bitter experience when, unfortunately, after the publication of the lists of our hostages appeared the crooks, the criminals, who took to the relatives and tried using this situation when people are in suffering, to fraudulently extort money, some items. The people in this state are waiting for their loved ones, ready to go at all for the sake of husbands, fathers, sons,” – said of the Tandem.
He said that previously there were cases of fraud, which has resulted in a large number of criminal proceedings.
“I in 2014 was part of the process of release of hostages as a negotiator, as a volunteer, have had this experience, when we passed such cases, and this was throughout the Ukraine: from Lviv called us, Dnepropetrovsk and other cities. We worked very well, we passed this information to the interior Ministry, the SBU. It was opened not one, but quite a large number of criminal proceedings for fraud,” – said adviser to the head of the SBU.
