Zelensky held talks with Putin: discussed

The President spoke about the truce in the Donbass

The President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky held a telephone conversation with President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin.

As reported on the official website of the President, they discussed the implementation of agreements reached during the “Norman” summit 9 Dec 2019, in Paris. In addition, Zelensky raised the issue of security in the Donbass.

“The two sides welcomed the agreement on full and comprehensive cease-fire in the Donbass, which starts from 00:01 July 27, 2020, the President of the Russian Federation supported this arrangement. The leaders agreed on the need for urgent implementation of additional measures to support the ceasefire in the Donbass”, – stated in the message.

They also discussed the details of cooperation on mine clearance, raising of forces and means and the opening of a new PPC on the line of contact, OSCE SMM activity and ensure access of the International Committee of the red cross to persons held.

In addition, Vladimir Zelensky raised the issue of the liberation of the Crimean Tatar Ruslan Suleymanov in connection with the tragic death of his three year old son. He noted the need for further practical steps on the issue of release of Ukrainian citizens held, which are in the temporarily occupied territories of Donbass and Crimea and in Russia.
