Ukraine has again extended the quarantine

The epidemic of coronavirus is still not retreating and the restrictive measures is extended

Prime Minister Denis Shmyhal in his opening remarks said that in Ukraine the quarantine will be extended until August 31. He said this at today’s Cabinet meeting.

“Today it is planned the extension of adaptive quarantine in Ukraine until 31 August. We all see that this format and approach to quarantine measures is yielding results and enables us to control the level of morbidity in Ukraine. Work at the level of individual regions, working at the local level has proved effective. Therefore, we will practice and continue these approaches for the control of morbidity and to prevent peaks and overload of the health system”, he said.

Smigel noted that today’s decision will improve the principles of adaptive quarantine, this should reduce the burden on hospitals and doctors.

As a result, the Cabinet endorsed a draft decree of the Ministry of health to extend the quarantine until 31 August, with effect from 1 August.

Note that now the Vinnytsia, Volyn, Transcarpathian, Ivano-Frankivsk, Lviv, Kharkiv and Chernihiv region do not meet the criteria of the weakening of quarantine restrictions. In these regions there is a problem with testing rates per 100 thousand inhabitants, occupancy rate beds in hospitals, dynamics of morbidity in comparison with the previous week. It also became known that Ukraine wants to divide into four zones.

Recently a high-ranking source in the Ministry of health of Ukraine told the “Today” date, which can extend the quarantine. He also said that continue will be those quarantine measures that have shown its effectiveness. And those that proved ineffective will be discarded.
