Zelensky in Europe Day reminded Ukrainians about the main values

Europe begins with each of us, the President said

The slogan “Ukraine is Europe” must not become just a formal stamp, which, we remember once a year. This should be a part of our consciousness. This is stated in the message of President Vladimir Zelensky on the occasion of Europe Day, which is celebrated today in our country.

“I have always said that Europe is first and foremost a way of thinking. Europe begins with each of us. With every citizen. With compliance with laws, payment of taxes, protection of democratic values and civil society, free expression, freedom of speech, thought and religion, equality and respect. With “Allergy” to take or give bribes, with a properly parked cars and cigarette butt thrown in the trash. Let us make Europe Day we had every day,” he said.

The President reminded that this year our European friends have celebrated the 70th anniversary of the proclamation of the Schuman Declaration, which actually started its countdown to the European Union.

“The words of Robert Schuman relevant today: “Europe will not be built at once or according to a single plan”. Building a United, prosperous and successful Europe continues. It is obvious to me that this process could be considered complete without Ukraine”, – said the President.

“I believe that this day will come, our state will be a full part of the European family!” – added Vladimir Zelensky.

We will remind, recently the EU made a statement on the exit of Europe out of the crisiscaused by the pandemic COVID-19.

As you know, on 9 may 1950 in Paris was signed the Schuman Declaration, which paved the way for the integration of European States.
