The secret service commented on the rumors that Ukraine allegedly has a foreign biological laboratory
In connection with the coronavirus and the introduction of quarantine in the information field there was a lot of misinformation. Recently in the security Service talked about the threat of hacker attacks. Now the secret service urging people not to spread false information about the existence in Ukraine “of the U.S. military biological laboratories”.
In SBU believe the spread of such rumors-planned information campaign, which aims on the background of the fight against coronavirus to spread panic in society.
“Firstly, in Ukraine there are no foreign biological laboratory. Statements, which recently heard from some politicians, are not true and are a deliberate distortion of the facts. Secondly, the cooperation between Ukraine and USA in the direction of countering biological terrorism takes place exclusively in the framework of the Ukrainian legislation and in the interests of Ukraine. The period since 1993 there has been an agreement to provide assistance to Ukraine in the elimination of strategic nuclear weapons and preventing the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction. One of its points is the timely identification of and reaction to outbreaks caused by dangerous pathogens,” – said in the secret service.
The Ministry recalled that in 2005 the Ministry of health of Ukraine and the Pentagon has signed an Agreement to prevent the proliferation of technologies, pathogens and knowledge which can be used in developing biological weapons. In the framework of this agreement was upgraded a number of public laboratories located in Odessa, Kharkiv, Lviv, Kyiv, Vinnytsia, Kherson, Dnipropetrovsk regions.
“We stress that these laboratories are financed from the state budget, subordinated to the Ministry of health and the State administration of Ukraine on issues of food safety and consumer protection … Call on politicians not to spread false information about the existence of “foreign biological laboratories” in the territory of Ukraine and to take care of the interests of the country and not about their ratings,” – said in the SBU.
We note that recently one of the Ukrainian television made a programme in which the idea was that Ukraine supposedly “secret” work of the biological laboratory of the United States, which may be involved in the development of biological weapons and disease outbreaks.
As reported “Today”, recently , the SBU has exposed more than 200 Internet agitators. Was blocked more than two thousand Internet communities with a total audience of 800 thousand users. These communities are spread fakie on the coronavirus.
