Russian airline received millions of fines for flights to Crimea

Economic court of Kyiv region decided to satisfy the claim of Prosecutor’s office of Autonomous Republic of Crimea for the recovery of the Russian airline ten million hryvnias of a penalty for flying in the occupied Peninsula, the press service of the Prosecutor’s office.

It is noted that the airline did not pay money for the provided air navigation services in international airspace over the Black sea within Simferopol flight information region.

It should be noted that the procedure for mutual international legal assistance cases involved the judicial authorities of the Russian Federation. Thus, the arbitration court of Moscow made the order of the Ukrainian court and awarded Respondent a copy of the decision on the beginning of the trial and the claim of the Prosecutor.

“Notifying the airline of the offending on the requirements of the Prosecutor’s office provides to the Ukrainian side the possibility of launching the recovery of these funds from the debtor in territory of the Russian Federation”, – said the Prosecutor Gunduz Mammadov.

Recall that in may 2016 the Supreme administrative court of Ukraine confirmed the legality of the imposition of more than 7.7 million UAH of penalties on the Russian airline Aeroflot for the flights over the Crimea.

After the annexation of Crimea by the Russian Federation Ukraine charged Russian airlines who have violated the Ukrainian legislation and have made flights to the occupied Crimea, more than 700 million UAH of a penalty.
