In the framework of the UN General Assembly the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko had a meeting with the President of the Republic of Finland Sauli, Niinisto. About it reports a press-service of the head of state.
The interlocutors discussed the ways of strengthening the Ukrainian-Finnish bilateral cooperation. The head of state welcomed the intention of the Finnish business delegation to implement in the near future visit to Ukraine.
The President thanked the Finnish side for its support of projects in our state in the educational and energy sectors.
Poroshenko also briefed the Finnish counterpart about the situation in the Donbass, the implementation of the Minsk agreements, and outlined the vision of the strategy of de-occupation of Crimea.
The parties also coordinated approaches regarding the possible deployment of the UN peacekeeping mission in the entire territory of certain districts of Donetsk and Lugansk regions, including the uncontrolled part of the Russian-Ukrainian state border.
The President noted the importance of coordinated positions to counter the politically motivated implementation of the project Nord stream-2.
Earlier it was reported that today in the 72nd UN General Assembly in new York, the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko will hold a series of meetings.
