President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko during his speech at the Yalta European strategy drew attention to the existing in Ukraine the problem of corruption – at the same time he noted the progress in addressing this problem.
“Of course, the situation has improved considerably if you take any sector in which possible corruption. For example, energy, purchase of gas in Russia – we are almost two years not a single cubic meter of gas purchase in Russia. We have launched a very effective mechanism of compensation of the VAT – yesterday I met with the business community and felt very different moods in these circles has changed markedly, “–said Poroshenko.
“In business, international investment circles there is interest – they plan to 30% to increase their investments in Ukraine. All funds that were created, and five of them, as I recall, they are filled with,” he added.
The head of state noted that investors look positively on the prospect to invest in Ukraine. The President also reminded that Ukraine finally places sovereign Eurobonds.
“The flow of money, which had fueled the corruption, now powering budget… Every week there are arrests of high-ranking officials”, – said Poroshenko reminded about the start of the program of electronic declarations: “We launched the world’s largest system of electronic Declaration and 1.2 million people’s taxes … it never happened not only in Ukraine but all over the world… Now have to explain where the Villa is, the plane, the car. Even the origin of luxury watches and books.”
In addition, the President spoke about the roadmap for 12 months on combating corruption in Ukraine.
“I think it is absolutely necessary to conduct an independent audit of the anti-corruption system in Ukraine under the auspices of the world Bank or other large-scale enterprises. We have a year and a half before the election, and we from professional discussion turn to political turmoil and struggle – we need to understand how to overcome it”, – said Poroshenko.
The President added that the country earned effective anti-corruption bodies – weekly, with arrests of officials, including deputies from the parliamentary majority, suspected of corruption.
In addition, the President announced that next week will present a new Supreme court, and next month plans to create an anti – corruption chamber.
“A year and a half spent on the creation of the Supreme court test, polygraph, verification of non-governmental organizations … we Have a year and a half to wait until it will create a new anti-corruption court … In such a situation, I hope in the next month, we will be able to create anti-corruption chamber. And when in the year 2019-2020 will be established anti – corruption court please, we will be happy. Every day, yet the anti-corruption court on that threat for Ukraine”, – he concluded.
