The Prosecutor General’s office of Ukraine this week received a copy of the request to the Georgian competent authorities for the extradition of the former President of Georgia, former head of the Odessa regional state administration of Mikheil Saakashvili, the press Secretary of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine Larisa Sargan.
“I want to confirm that the Prosecutor General’s office of Ukraine this week in the copy of the received request of the Main Prosecutor’s office of the Ministry of justice of Georgia for the extradition of Saakashvili M. N.”, she wrote on her Facebook page on Thursday evening.

The Sargan said that given the fact that criminal cases, in respect of which extradition is requested of such person, pending before the Tbilisi city court, according to article 574 of the criminal procedure code of Ukraine “the request of the competent authorities of Georgia will be considered by the Ministry of justice of Ukraine”.
We will remind, on July 26 it became known that Mikheil Saakashvili was deprived of Ukrainian citizenship.
