The relationship between the existence of bacteria in the digestive tract and the nervous system was discovered recently, according to ibtimes.co.uk.
This relationship was confirmed by the test on mice placed in amicrobic environment. Lack of lactobacilli caused significant changes in the brain of animals, especially due to disturbances in the synthesis of micro-RNA.
Micro-RNA – non-coding RNA molecules that are involved in the transfer (transcription) of genetic information. Depends on the recovery, survival, immune processes in cells, including brain cells, as well as control of protein production.

“Micro-RNA is important for the Central nervous system, especially the amygdala and prefrontal cortex, play an important role in decision-making, emotional reactions, sleep regulation and memory – these functions are the first to suffer with nervousness and depression,” said study author Gerard Clarke.
A mental disorder is very difficult to cure with pills because of the blood-brain barrier, which protects neural tissue of the brain from toxins and microorganisms, but does not pass also some medicines.
As it bacteria the digestive tract affect the micro-RNA, scientists still do not explain, however, the discovery that through a balanced nutrition can treat mental disorders in itself revolutionary.
Even the simple intake of prebiotics (chicory, Jerusalem artichoke, dandelion, garlic, onion, asparagus, banana) can improve mental state, relieve depression, cure insomnia and amnesia.
