The new draft law “On education”, which is pending in Parliament and must be voted in the near future, suggests that the final examinations of ninth-graders will be held in the form of external independent testing. This was stated by the Minister of education and science, Liliya Hrynevych, writes ZN.ua.
But, she said, even after the adoption of the new law, the EIT will not be used in ninth grade to 2026. Hrynevych said that the launch of UPE the ninth tied to the start of the senior profile school.
“It is expected that the EIT in the ninth grade, will run to the start of the senior profile school. Under the current calendar reform, on which we are moving is roughly after the 2026-2027 academic year”, — said the Minister.

As reported, the draft of the new education act poses a threat to the prospect of creating in Ukraine a network of specialized high schools for high school students, as a separate element of education, which should become the basis of a 12-year-old profile school.
