Physicians from Japan been able to figure out how the genetic mechanism of the vertebrae in quadrupeds and tetrapods. The case in the protein GDF11, which plays an important role in establishing the location of the sacral vertebrae, passes “Orthodox”.
Experts have told that the study they tracked the experimental mice interesting point.
As it turned out, in rodents, the body does not produce the protein GDF11, vertebrae and hind limbs have significant displacements on the back.
To prove this hypothesis, Japanese doctors have studied the structure of gene expression, and found the relationship between the limbs at different stages of embryo development and the likely position of the vertebrae.
The results obtained will help to change the awareness of the evolution of tetrapods, and to provide new understanding on the positioning of the hind limbs in species.
