Poroshenko told Mattis that many Russian troops in the Donbas

Ukraine expects the withdrawal of Russian troops from the Donbass, which, to date, there are about 3 thousand. This was stated by President Petro Poroshenko at a briefing after talks with Pentagon James Mattis, reports 112.ua.

“What concrete steps we expect from Russia is to withdraw Russian troops. Our intelligence confirms a minimum level of regular Russian troops in the occupied territory – about 3 thousand,” – said Poroshenko.

Despite the danger of the Russian military presence in Donbas, the President noted the positive thing.

“It’s dangerous. On the other hand, we see this as positive things – this increases the responsibility of the Russian Federation and the possibility of a ceasefire,” – said the head of state.

Yesterday Poroshenko said about the new stage in the history of the Ukrainian army, which will meet the requirements of the XXIST century. He recalled that before the army was deliberately destroyed, and Ukrainian officers has contributed to it.
