What are the risks of joint consumption of proteins and carbohydrates: the scientific answer

The simultaneous consumption of protein and carbohydrate has a negative effect on the energy balance of the body, changing eating habits and promotes the accumulation of body fat.

It found American scientists, published their findings in the journal BMC Nutrition.

They conducted an experiment, which was attended by 13 women and 14 men, whose average age was 23 years.

According to the findings of scientists, the simultaneous consumption of proteins and simple carbohydrates (e.g. sugar) reduces the oxidation of fats. In the result, the more protein is consumed along with simple carbohydrates, the less processed lipids.

The researchers noted that the increase in the caloric content of food does not increase in proportion to the amount of absorbed energy.
