The Kremlin has its own plans for the project “little Russia” – Die Zeit

The militants in Donetsk and Luhansk, which are in fact only puppets of occupation authorities in some areas of Eastern Ukraine, proclaimed the creation of a new country called “little Russia.” Even if the Kremlin did not give the order to make such a Declaration, he can still use it to increase pressure on Kiev and the West. As reported ZN.ua, writes the German newspaper Die Zeit, pointing out that Russia tries to force Ukraine to accept the Autonomous status of the occupied territories of Donetsk and Luhansk regions without any withdrawal of Russian troops and the disarmament of militias.

According to the newspaper, the statement of the leader of the militants about the new “state” as the successor of present-day Ukraine could become a trump card of the Kremlin to put pressure on Kiev and the West. He was able to recognize the new threats of the terrorist project. The main objective remains the destabilization of the whole of Ukraine, to stop its movement in the direction of rapprochement with the democratic Europe.

Also Die Zeit suggests that the statement Zakharchenko may not casually sounded on the anniversary of the shooting down of the Malaysian airliner “Boeing 777”. It is possible that the militants and the Kremlin wanted to divert attention from the memory of the tragic event that occurred through the fault of Russia.
