The Ministry of foreign Affairs of Ukraine with surprise have apprehended the statement of the State Duma of the Russian Federation of July 7, 2017, which contained unfounded allegations against the Moldovan and Ukrainian parties, particularly the alleged blockade of the Transnistrian region of the Republic of Moldova. This was stated by the foreign Ministry of Ukraine.
It is noted that the Transnistrian region of Moldova enjoys all the benefits of the regime the free trade zone of the CIS, as well as between Moldova and the European Union, and exports produced in Transnistria products to Ukraine increased to $61 million US in 2016 and continues to grow in the current year.
“Complete rejection “anxiety” of the state Duma due to the introduction of joint control at the checkpoint “Kuchurgan”. Indeed, this decision reaffirms the legal field of the Republic of Moldova in all areas of the country. At the same time Russia declared its respect for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Republic of Moldova within its internationally recognized borders,” – said in a statement.
The Ukrainian foreign Ministry has also called the accusations from the Russian Federation in allegedly delaying the next round of negotiations on conflict settlement in the format “5+2” (Transnistria, Moldova, the OSCE, Russia and Ukraine, USA and EU) is another example of blatant manipulation because “that’s the Tiraspol administration has rejected a recent proposal for the organization of the Bavarian conference, which was planned to discuss the future agenda of the negotiations and the timing of their implementation”.
The foreign Ministry stressed that Ukraine’s position consistently is the need for a peaceful settlement on the basis of fundamental principles of international law, particularly respect for the sovereignty, territorial integrity and inviolability of borders. “This fully applies to the Transnistrian settlement process”, – said the Minister.
