The Chairman of the Committee on foreign Affairs of the house of representatives ed Royce has proposed to introduce new sanctions against Russia for breach of Contract on the elimination of intermediate-range and shorter-range.
This is with reference to the American edition of “The Hill” reports Interfax-Ukraine.
It is noted that ed Royce has amended the bill on defense for the year 2018, the introduction of new sanctions against Russia for breach of Contract on the elimination of intermediate-range and shorter-range.
“Royce introduced the amendment to the annual defense policy bill, which is expected to be submitted to the chamber next week”, – stated in the message.
According to the newspaper, the Congressman “suggests to enter sanctions against individuals who help Russia to develop major weapons systems, and against States sponsors of terrorism who buy such weapons”.
Ed Royce said that Russia “for many years openly ignores obligations under the INF Treaty”. “And this is another example of Russian aggression, which undermines the global stability,” said the Congressman.
As reminds the edition, the draft law about the defense already has a warning that if Russia violates the Agreement and its requirements within 15 months from the date of adoption of the bill, “according to the national legislation, States are no longer bound by the obligations arising from the Treaty”.
