Canada will provide Ukraine with additional aid package – Ambassador

On the sidelines of the summit of “Big twenty” the government of Canada announced an additional aid package for Ukraine. We are talking about around 7 million canadian dollars that will be provided in the framework of the program “Peace and stabilization”. This was announced by extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Ukraine to Canada Andriy Shevchenko in the TV channel “112 Ukraine”.

“What is important for us at the summit? It is important that the developed world clearly held position on Ukraine and Russian aggression. It is very important to maintain isolation of Russia. For us it is very important what is happening not only in the hall, where the leaders of the States, and what happens on the sidelines of the summit. A very important point: at the beginning of the summit, Trudeau and Merkel meet, they coordinate their actions at the summit. And one of the key themes they discussed, it was Ukraine, said canadian Prime Minister Trudeau. Also for us it is important that this summit, Canada announced an additional aid package for Ukraine, which is about 7 million canadian dollars, which will be provided to us within the program “Peace and stability,” he said.

Earlier it was reported that the G20 summit will be held in Hamburg on 7 and 8 July. The summit participants will discuss key issues on the international agenda and paying particular attention to the situation in Ukraine and Syria.
