In the Central-Eastern part of France on the roof of a nuclear reactor at the NPP “Bugey” there was a fire. About it reports Reuters with reference to the nuclear regulator of the country’s ASN (Autonomous Agency for nuclear energy).
As reported by ASN, the fire broke out on 5 nuclear reactor plant, which is operated by the operator EDF (Electricite de France) and is located 35 km from Lyon. Operator EDF said that as a result of a fire nobody has suffered.
In his Twitter the Institute for radiological protection and nuclear safety (IRSN) has informed that the sensors have not detected increase of radiation.
