The President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko after a visit to the United States intends to go to Brussels (Belgium) and to participate in the transmission of instruments of ratification of the Association Agreement. He said this during communication with the Ukrainian community on American soil, passed to Interfax-Ukraine.
He said he expects the full entry into force of the Association of Ukraine with the EU from September 1 this year.
“Right from Washington, I’m flying to Brussels in order to participate in the transmission of the instruments of ratification signed by His Majesty the king of the Netherlands. And this is the last country that completes the process of ratification, Ukraine, from September 1, is the highest honor that the Association agreement will enter into force,” – said Poroshenko.
He added that Russia carried out large obstacles to the ratification of the document took place.
“Overcame enormous resistance that Russia tried to implement, not to give the possibility to ratify the Association Agreement with the European Union”, – added the head of state.
Recall, may 30, the Senate of the Netherlands (upper chamber of the Parliament) voted for the ratification of the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the EU.
The lower house of the Dutch Parliament ratified the Association Agreement EU-Ukraine on 23 February. After the instrument of ratification signed by the king of the Netherlands, they are sent to Brussels.
June 9, the king of the Netherlands Willem-Alexander signed the lawpassed by the Parliament, which ratified the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the European Union.
