The price must rise: Poroshenko commented on the extension of sanctions against Crimea

The President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko has welcomed the extension of sanctions of European Union against Russia-occupied Crimea. This is stated in the message on his page in Facebook.

“I welcome the decision of the EU Council to extend for another year the “Crimean package” sanctions,” wrote the head of state.

The President also stressed that “the price for the attempt of annexation and aggression needs to grow.”

As it became known today, the European Union to “punish” occupied Crimea and Sevastopol city by the extension of sanctions for another year after the illegal annexation of the Peninsula Russia.

In turn in Russia negatively reacted to the decision of the European Union.

“Traditionally, negative (position), we still do not agree with these sanctions. We do not consider them legitimate, and moreover, we believe these sanctions are detrimental not only to us but to the countries themselves, which are their initiators,” — said Peskov.
