Russia will not implement the decision of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe over Crimea – foreign Ministry

Russia will not implement the decision of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe adopted on 3 may, concerning the situation in the annexed Crimea and Sevastopol. This is stated in the statement of the foreign Ministry of the Russian Federation, transfers TV channel “112 Ukraine”.

The statement said that a draft decision on the situation of human rights on the Peninsula Ukraine was allegedly made to distract from this sector on the mainland. Also observed that annexed Crimea is now “under the protection of Russian laws and UN Conventions and Council of Europe, including the European Convention for the protection of human rights and fundamental freedoms”. The Ukrainian Peninsula to the Russian foreign Ministry called the Russian territory.

“The decision of the Committee of Ministers – not of man and not of his rights. It is about how the subject used for political purposes, not thinking about the discrediting of the Committee of Ministers. As the state responsible for the situation in the Council of Europe, including the Committee of Ministers of the Russian Federation will be forced to consider steps to overcome those who live in the structures of the Council of Europe, the practice of opportunistic politicking of the issue of human rights on the whole space CE”, – the document says.

We will remind, on may 3, the COE Committee of Ministers adopted a decision on the situation in Crimea and Sevastopol, which became the first comprehensive document the main governing body of the Council of Europe dedicated strictly to the Crimean issue.

In it, in particular, the Committee of Ministers once again confirmed that the position regarding the independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine within its internationally recognized borders.

In turn, the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko welcomed the adoption by the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe integrated solutions in connection with the situation in occupied Russia in 2014, the Crimea and called it “a confirmation of the inevitability of responsibility of Russia”.

The Ukrainian foreign Ministry called the decision of the Council of Europe over Crimea recognition of the repression of the Russian Federation in Ukraine.
