“The French elections are very important for the future of France and the values about which we care so deeply,” said Obama in his message that was distributed by the headquarters of Macron.
According to the previous President of the United States, macron protects liberal values. “It’s set on a better future for the French people. He defends human hopes and not their fears,” said Obama.
“I support (the intention) of Emmanuel Macron to lead you forward,” Obama said.
Macron is seen as the favorite in the election campaign before the far right candidate from “National front” marine Le Pen.
In the first round of the French presidential elections, which took place April 23, macron scored 24,01%. His main opponent, right-wing candidate from “National front” marine Le Pen – 21.3 percent of votes. The second round will take place on may 7.
