The economic court of Kyiv invalidated 10 brands in the Ukrainian subsidiary of Sberbank of Russia and forbade the Bank to use the trademark “the savings Bank” Oschadbank said in a press release on Tuesday.
“Today, 18 April 2017, the Economic court of Kyiv issued a decision that invalidated ten brands of Sberbank, is divested of a domain name sberbank.ua satisfied the requirement on prohibition to use a trademark “Sberbank”, the report said.
As reported, Oschadbank January 15, 2016, filed a lawsuit the claim about protection of its trade mark “Sberbank”, the rightful owner of which on the territory of Ukraine Oschadbank is based on the certificate dated September 10, 2007.
As have informed Agency “Interfax-Ukraine” the press service of the Ukrainian “daughter” of Sberbank of Russia, the Bank may appeal the court’s decision.
“This decision is not in force. PJSC “Sberbank” has the right to appeal in the statutorily stipulated period, which is the basis of review of that decision by a higher court,” – said the representative of press-service.
Oschadbank was founded in 1991. Its sole owner is the state.
According to the national Bank of Ukraine, January 1, 2017 in the amount of total assets Oschadbank has occupied 2-e a place (210,099 billion UAH) among 93 operating in the country banks.
