After the signing of the agreement on cooperation in the defense sphere between Ukraine and Canada, the next step is opening the canadian market weapons for Kiev. This was stated by the Minister of defense of Canada harjit Sajjan, reports “UKRINFORM”.
He is satisfied with development of canadian-Ukrainian cooperation and is ready to go on a more concrete step for Ukraine.
“Relations between Canada and Ukraine are unique. The signing of the defense agreement will allow us to have a much more extensive and detail discussions on various topics. Therefore, the introduction of Ukraine in automatic control list of countries by firearms will be the next step. We always try to move forward as quickly as possible. We have worked closely to agree on the defense and will continue to work together,” said Sajjan.
Note that the list of Automatic Firearms Country Control List identifies which countries, Canada could supply weapons. Now it includes 35 States.
He added that the signing of the defense agreement is “a very important step before we get to the Auto checklist”.
“The Agreement reached yesterday have become the remarkable evolution of relations between our countries,” concluded Sajan.
Recall, 3 APR Ukraine and Canada signed an Agreement on cooperation in the sphere of defense.
In turn, President Petro Poroshenko said that the negotiations with Canada regarding the supply of arms to Ukraine is almost complete.
