Russia has organized and carried out more than 7 thousand cyber attacks on Ukraine for three years. This was stated by the Minister of defence of Ukraine Stepan Poltorak during a briefing in Ottawa following the meeting with the Minister of national defence of Canada Hargita Singh Sajana, the press service of the defense Ministry of Ukraine.
According to the Ukrainian Minister, the cooperation in cyber defence between the two countries is extremely important.
“The Ministry of defense of Ukraine will cooperate with Canada on many issues, including related to cyber defence. It is very important, given that over the last three years the Russian Federation has carried out more than seven thousand cyber attacks in Ukraine. I believe this area of cooperation is also extremely important for joint discussions and counter threats”, – said Poltorak.
Earlier it was reported that Poltorak in Canada discussed with Freeland security in Ukraine.
In the framework of the official visit of the Minister of defence of Ukraine Stepan Poltorak met with the Minister of national defence of Canada Hargita Sagana and chief of the General Staff Colonel-General Jonathan Vance.
“The meeting began with the Minister of national defence of Canada Hargita Sagana and chief of the General Staff Colonel-General Jonathan Vance. On the agenda is the issue of security situation in Ukraine and the subsequent signing of the agreement on defense cooperation”, – Poltorak wrote on his page in Facebook.
