Director and political prisoner Oleg Sentsov has received from the international human rights organization “PEN America” award Barbara goldsmith “Freedom to write”. About it reports TV Channel 24 with reference to the edition of The Washington Post.
The prosecution Sentsov organization called “a shining example of the intolerance for dissent on the part of the government Putin”.
Note, the award is presented annually to inmates. Most of the 40 awarded to individuals after receiving the award, “Freedom to write” was released for 18 months.
We will remind, the Director Sentsov in August 2015, was sentenced by North-Caucasian military district court to 20 years in prison on charges of terrorism. He was recognized as a human rights movement “memorial” to political prisoners.
