Explosions in Balakliya: NATO has helped Ukraine equipment for liquidation of consequences

The Secretary-General of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) Jens Stoltenberg said that the Alliance has provided Ukraine PPE and demining equipment for liquidation of consequences of explosions at a military Arsenal in Balakleya in Kharkiv region. He said this at a press conference following the meeting of the NATO Council-Russia.

According to Stoltenberg, this week in the framework of the NATO program “Science for peace and security,” the Alliance has responded to the request of Ukraine on rendering assistance for liquidation of consequences of explosions on an Arsenal in balakliia.

“We provide personal protective equipment and equipment for demining, as well as radio system”, – said Stoltenberg.

Recall the night of 23 March in balakliia the fire blew up a military Arsenal. Because of the danger have been evacuated about 20 thousand people.

As reported, the amount of damage from explosions and fires in Balakleya may be about 300 million hryvnia.
