The Director of the National anticorruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) Artem Sytnik does not preclude the possibility of conviction of the people’s Deputy Oleksandr Onishchenko, who is suspected of organizing schemes to the embezzlement of funds in the extraction and sale of gas under joint venture agreements with PJSC “Ukrgazvydobuvannya”.
“Of course, we Holodnick (head of the Specialized anti-corruption Prosecutor’s office, SAP Nazar Holodnenkim – ed.) were discussed as a variant of development of events with respect to Onishchenko it in absentia conviction. But we still hope that their arrest and extradition”, – said A. Sytnik in an interview with “Gromadska TV” on Tuesday, answering the question, considering the possibility of conviction A. Onishchenko.
He noted that the NAB is trying to “not only to prosecute for Commission of corruption offenses”, but also to eliminate corruption schemes.
“If we are talking about this “gas scheme”, it is now liquidated: liquidated joint venture after the court decision, so now this scheme, in fact, does not exist. Prosecuted employees of “ukrgazvidobuvannya”, the members of the group, who were engaged in the implementation of this scheme, officials of the State fiscal service. And the scheme itself in court liquidated”, – said A. Sytnik.
According to him, the suspects now on “gas business” for more than ten people.
As reported, Onishchenko is suspected of organizing a scheme for the theft of funds in the extraction and sale of natural gas in the framework of joint operation agreements with PJSC “Ukrgazvydobuvannya”, which was caused to the state damage for the sum about 3 billion UAH. He is suspected of committing crimes under part 1 of article 255, part 4 of article 28 and part 5 article 191, part 4 of article 28 of part 2 of article 205, part 4 of article 28, part 3 of article 209, part 4 of article 28 of part 2 of article 364-1, part 4. 28 part 2 St. 366 Criminal code of Ukraine.
The Verkhovna Rada gave consent to bringing him to justice, detention and arrest. However, on the eve of the vote, taking advantage of the status of MP, Onishchenko left the territory of the state.
