Kenya is poised to consolidate Ukraine’s status as a strategic supplier of agricultural products. This was announced by Deputy Minister of economic development and trade, trade representative of Ukraine Natalia Mykolskiy.
“Kenya is interested in import of large volumes of Ukrainian maize, food products, simple processing equipment, pharmaceutical products and equipment for energy engineering”, – posted by Gaina on his page in Facebook.
Currently the work continues with the Kenya market after a trading mission.
“The Kenyan delegation confirmed its readiness to import 450 thousand tons of corn from Ukraine duty-free through mechanisms of public procurement,” added Michalska.
She also noted that the head of the Kenyan delegation will raise in Parliament the issue of allocation of quotas for duty-free import of Ukrainian agricultural products.
Recall that pon the end of 2016, the export of Ukrainian goods amounted to 36.4 billion dollars, which is 4.6%, or $ 1.8 billion compared with 2015.
In the structure of exports in 2016 the largest share was made up of the agriculture and food industry (42%), metal products (22.9%), and engineering (11.9 per cent).
