The Pentagon has accused Russia of threatening deployment of NATO cruise missiles

Russia has deployed on its territory cruise land-based missiles, in violation of the “spirit and purposes” of the Treaty between the Russian Federation and the USA on the elimination of intermediate and short range, said Deputy Chairman of the Committee of chiefs of staffs of armed forces of the U.S. General Paul Selva. “The system represents a risk for the majority of our facilities in Europe, and we believe that the Russians deliberately unfolded it to create a threat to NATO and objects in the area of responsibility of NATO,” said Selva, ZN reports with reference to Reuters.

He also noted that such a step threatens the security of NATO. While Selva didn’t say whether the missile carrier nuclear charge.

Earlier, the Minister of defence of the USA James Mattis has accused Russia of aggression and violation of international stability.
