The MP told how the military situation will help the Ukrainian prisoners

The military situation in Ukraine would help to address the issue of Ukrainian prisoners according to the Geneva Convention. This was stated by people’s Deputy Yury Bublik in comments to television channel “112 Ukraine”.

The MP urged the President to impose martial law in the country, as it would help our prisoners held in ORDA.

“The introduction of martial law will regulate the issue of prisoners of war – they finally will become prisoners of war in the occupied territories and will be subject to positions of the Geneva Convention. In the end, the military situation would give a reason to return to the format of the Budapest format: by international standards we are not at war,” said Bagel.

We will note that recently in Ukraine the topic being discussed martial law and its appropriateness in current conditions.

Thus, the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Andrei Parubiy said that the military situation in Ukraine may be introduced in the event of a massive offensive of the Russian troops, and it will be applied throughout the country.

In turn, the Minister of foreign Affairs Pavlo Klimkin said that the Ukrainian leadership has consistently discussed the issue of introduction of martial law in the country and in case of deterioration of a situation on Donbass it will be introduced very quickly.

The head of the NSDC Oleksandr Turchynov explained why he, fulfilling duties of the President of Ukraine in 2014, not imposed martial law after the Donbass was invaded by Russian troops.
