In 2016 at least half of the working population worked informally, according to state statistics. This means that sick pay, holidays and maternity leave will be at the discretion of the employer.
As benefits paid for pregnancy and childbirth in Ukrainian companies, recognized international HR portal hh.ua.
According to the survey, two-thirds of the women who went on maternity leave in the last 5 years, claim that the employer has formalised maternity leave and let go to put on the law term.
Other women were less lucky. In particular, every tenth offered to write the application on dismissal “at own will”. Another 6% of the respondents claim that they allegedly kept the office, but found a reason to fire after work.
However, only 8% of the employer proposed an alternative – a remote-time or holiday “at own expense” with the promise to keep the working place.
However, as the survey findings show, three-quarters of women on maternity leave received benefits and maternity leave officially and in full. While every fourth Respondent employer has not treated as the law requires. One in ten women did not receive material compensation from the company.
Other benefits maternity paid partially or completely “envelope”.
Data were obtained as a result of the survey conducted by the Research center of International HR portal hh.ua in December of 2016. The survey involved 715 women from different regions of Ukraine, who went on maternity leave for the past 5 years.
