The EU believes that the recognition of the Russian Federation documents ORDA inconsistent with the spirit of the Minsk agreements

The recognition by Russia of passports of certain regions of Donetsk and Luhansk regions contrary to the Minsk agreements, and such documents in the European Union would not be recognised.

“The decree is not consistent with the spirit of the Minsk agreements”, – stated in the answer of the EU delegation to Ukraine in response to a request for comment on the decision of the head of the Russian Federation.

The Embassy noted that the EU remains unwavering in its support for the territorial integrity, sovereignty and unity of Ukraine, as well as the full implementation of the Minsk agreements.

The Embassy stressed that “travel documents issued by the so-called “DNR”/”LNR”, are not recognized by the European Union.”

In addition, the issue of recognition of documents ORLO and ORDO were discussed during a meeting in Munich of the EU high representative for the common foreign and security policy Federica Mogherini, Minister of foreign Affairs of Russia Sergey Lavrov.
