Poroshenko appealed to the deputies with “an urgent request” from-for Yanukovych

The President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko during a meeting with families of Heroes of Heavenly Hundred urged MPs to support amendments to the Law on in absentia justice to transmit to the court the charges against Viktor Yanukovych. About it reports a press-service of the head of state.

“United and our common position is the address to the deputies. We can’t wait months, because April 15 will expire on the act, and again they escape responsibility. This is our firm and urgent request: this week to vote on the law that allows to transfer the case Yanukovych to the court,” – said the head of state.

The President stressed the importance of this court over Yanukovych. “That the judgment he was stripped of his title of President, because the court determines guilt, and the Parliament only gives a political assessment”, – said the President.

In turn, present at the event, Prosecutor General Yury Lutsenko stressed the importance of the support this week of the bill, which clarifies the law on in absentia justice. He promised that after this bill is passed, Yanukovych’s accusations of treason within ten days will be brought to court.

“I am confident that we are able this year to bring to trial the charges of treason Yanukovych and the threat to the territorial integrity, as evidenced by writing them letters to Putin and the state Duma of Russia, which contributed to the occupation of Crimea and the subsequent actions”, – said the Prosecutor General.

Recall that tomorrow the Verkhovna Rada will convene for the next plenary session.
