The Ministry of foreign Affairs of Belarus explained the detention of the Ukrainian writer Sergei Zhadan “a misunderstanding.”
According to Zhadan, the abolition of the ban on entry in Belarus, he learned already on the way to Ukraine, reports TV channel “112 Ukraine”.
“I was approached by representatives of the foreign Ministry of Belarus and said that it was a misunderstanding, the problem was solved”, – he said.
Zhadan said that for him, the ban on entry to Belarus was unexpected. “According to law enforcement, I was on the list from 2015, Then I from the lists of excluded, and then again added. For me it’s all pointless. What kind of terrorism are we talking? This is some nonsense. Attitude I have is that due to the fact that to condemn him… was in Belarus last summer. Then about bans, no one spoke” – he said.
Now the writer has already arrived in Kiev. “Safely crossed the border. No problems”, – he said.
Again Belarus Zhadan planning to visit in may – this time with a concert. However, before the trip, the writer plans to check for some of his musicians in the lists.

In connection with the detention of the writer in the Ministry of foreign Affairs summoned the Ambassador of Belarus Igor Sokol. The representative of the Ministry said that the explanations of the Belarusian side regarding the detention of Zhadan not satisfy the Ukrainian side.
