NATO mobilized – Putin checks readiness

The President of the Russian Federation leads the Russian space forces on alert

With the arrival of additional troops of the Alliance from Germany to Lithuania and concentration it is only 100 kilometers from the Russian border, NATO closes the “siege” around Russia and will bring their military construction in Eastern Europe to its logical conclusion.

The first group of soldiers arrived from Germany after arrival in the territory of Lithuania was centered on a military base, located near the border with the Kaliningrad oblast. It is assumed that the number of groups in the next two months will be brought up to 2 thousand people. German soldiers joined already arrived here previously, the Belgian, French and Dutch colleagues, however, decided that they will have their own field command.

Informed senior officers of the German Bundeswehr visited the capital of Lithuania Vilnius with the aim to spend, in anticipation of the arrival of the German military contingent, the necessary inspection work. At the same time, American Marines, accompanied by units of artillery and armored forces, was introduced on the territory of Poland. The arrival of American troops in Poland — part of an ambitious NATO plan to the concentration of a large military group from the United States, a total population of 4 thousand people, in the territories of Poland, Baltic States, Romania and Bulgaria. Earlier, in the past few weeks, the U.S. military also appeared in the same Lithuania, and Latvia, and is expected within the next 2-3 months their numbers here in these two Baltic republics, will join soldiers from other countries, members of the Alliance, in particular, British and canadian soldiers.

The concentration of such large numbers of troops in Eastern Europe — a fact unprecedented since the end of the cold war, military analysts have described it as “a full-scale military preparations” against Russia. NATO in the last three years after Russia had annexed the Crimean Peninsula, almost completely frozen any relationship with Moscow. But steps to increase its military presence in the territories close to the border with Russia, the Alliance calls “the necessary measures in the field of defense” against possible “acts of aggression” on the part of the latter. However Russia likewise considers such action on the part of NATO as aggressive and believes these measures are a violation of “parity security”, established on the European continent.

On Monday, February 6, units of the American NATO troops, accompanied by tanks, was introduced in Estonia, with the purpose of “reinforcement” focused here, the units of the Alliance forces. Estonia is the northernmost country in the region of Eastern Europe, and it also has a common border with Russia. Let’s remind, that earlier Estonia and the other two neighbouring Baltic States, i.e. Latvia and Lithuania, was part of the Soviet Union, but thereafter they received in 1991 of independence, eventually became part of the North Atlantic Alliance and the member States of the European Union. The proximity of Lithuania to the Russian “enclave” in the Baltic sea region, in Kaliningrad oblast, was the reason that the authorities were particularly concerned about possible aggression from Russia. Kaliningrad is a Russian region, located off the coast of the Baltic sea outside the main borders of the Russian Federation, between Poland and Lithuania. Russia is concentrated here, in the units of its missile forces, ballistic missile complex “Iskander-M” — operational-tactical weapons, special power, because it can carry a nuclear warhead.

Russia announces military readiness

With the advent of NATO troops in Lithuania, Kaliningrad region appeared to be closed in the ring of the blockade by the Alliance. Russian President Vladimir Putin, in response to these moves by NATO, on Tuesday gave an order to a sudden check the combat readiness of aerospace defence forces of the country. However, Putin instructed the Russian defense Minister Sergei Shoigu to take all necessary measures to assess the level of readiness of all ground forces Russia to confront the “strong sudden blow.” Alexander Grushko, the former representative of Russia to NATO, also, in an interview with Russian official news Agency TASS said there was no indication that NATO will roll, or at least suspend steps to strengthen its military presence in Eastern Europe.

In response to these latest “cooking” from NATO, Russia announced that current 2017 year will be the year of modernisation and the strengthening of the combat power of its armed forces, and that for this purpose will be developed and implemented special program. In the last 5 months of Russia introduced the world to sample its new missile carrying a nuclear warhead — missiles that do not have its size and power unique in this type of weapon. The missile can carry a warhead with a capacity of 40 megatons, which is 2 thousand times the power of those atomic bombs that were applied to the USA in 1945 during the bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki.

Tensions between the two sides, Russia and NATO have already passed the stage of “mutual” military preparations, which raises the concern of the population of the countries of Europe and the West: there is a significant increase in the number of those who consider the very real threat of “world war III”. About a month ago known The Independent published the results of sociological research. They showed that the majority of the population 9 Western countries, including the US, UK and France said such a prospect is not just probable, but very close.
