Political points of the Minsk agreements could be implemented only after the obvious and undeniable progress in terms of security. This was stated by the President Petro Poroshenko during a working visit to Ivano-Frankivsk region, the press service of the presidential Administration.
“Elections under the muzzles of Russian and (Russian – ed.) soldiery around the polling stations were completely unacceptable and impossible actions”, – said Poroshenko during a speech at the ceremony, fire trucks, SES units in the region.
The President stressed that this attitude is shared and partners of Ukraine, on what they said during “spontaneous debate, in the last days.” With the same position the Minister of foreign Affairs of Ukraine Pavlo Klimkin next week I go to a meeting of foreign Ministers of the countries “Norman Quartet”, said Petro Poroshenko.
The head of state once again stressed that Ukraine adhered to and will adhere to the Minsk agreements and to do all it can to de-escalate the situation until the complete cessation of fire. “Now on the road to peace and restoration of territorial integrity, such an approach is absolutely no alternative”, – he said.
Petro Poroshenko urged not to believe those who build their political career on “indiscriminate criticism of the Minsk agreements”. Thanks to these agreements, Ukraine received the time and opportunity to strengthen the army.
The President called false information on the prohibition of the Ukrainian military to respond to attacks from militants. “I do not believe that our supposedly forbidden to shoot back. When there is a real need, where there are no alternatives, when there is no other way, all the necessary orders already received and flawlessly executed. And under Avdiyivka it’s been proven,” – said Petro Poroshenko.
At the same time, stressed the head of state, responsible for the worsening of the situation rests solely on the fighters and the country-occupier. “I categorically reject any attempt to place the responsibility for the worsening situation on the front in the Ukraine. Or even such insidious tactics is to divide it between Moscow and Kiev. We will not allow this to be done,” he said.
“Our actions are, no doubt, are in the nature of a forced defense. They were just the cure for those aggressive seizures that have occurred from the Russian-terrorist groups”, – said Petro Poroshenko.
The President also noted that Ukraine can provide all of the facts concerning the initiators of the attacks, it has the record of intercepted negotiations militants. Also at the disposal of our NATO partners there are satellite images, which clearly recorded facts of shelling.
We will remind, the Deputy Minister on the issues of the temporarily occupied territories and internally displaced persons, the George Tooke believes that the Minsk agreement can be rewritten as and look for other venues and formats of negotiations with Russia, but it should be done only after Ukraine will definitely be an alternative.
