The European Parliament called on Russia to release Sushchenko

Member of the European Parliament Rebecca harms urged Russia to release illegally detained Ukrainian journalist Roman Sushchenko.

About it she wrote on Twitter.

“In his birthday the 131st day of his stay in the Lefortovo prison I challenge you to release the accused falsified. Free Sushchenko” she said.

As reported, the FSB of Russia on 30 September 2016 in Moscow detained a correspondent of “UKRINFORM” Sushchenko, calling him a member of the Ukrainian intelligence service, which allegedly “purposefully collected information on the activities of the armed forces and of national guard troops of the Russian Federation, representing state secret”. A criminal case was opened under article “espionage”.

According to the decision of the Lefortovo court of Moscow Sushchenko will remain in custody until April 30.
