A group of U.S. senators intend to block a possible lifting of sanctions against Russia by the order of the trump

A bipartisan group of U.S. senators introduced the upper house of the Congress a project for the lifting of sanctions against Russia only with the permission of Congress.

“Russia has done nothing to deserve the removal from it of sanctions,” – said one of the bill’s authors, Republican Senator Lindsey Graham.

“Lifting sanctions now would send the wrong signal to Russia and to our allies, which are under Russian pressure. The lifting of sanctions must be earned, it cannot be a gift,” said the Senator.

Another author of the bill, Democrat Senator Ben Cardin believes that “if the United States will lift sanctions against Russia without proven progress in the implementation of the Minsk agreements, we will lose the confidence of our allies in Europe and around the world.”

Since sanctions against Russia were introduced by a former President of the United States Barack Obama, and their removal does not involve congressional approval, and that’s enough for the relevant order is the current President of the United States Donald trump.
