NBU warns: Ukraine has intensified “card” scams

The national Bank of Ukraine (NBU) warns citizens from divulging information about their personal data and details of the payment cards. About it reports a press-service of the NBU.

“Employees of the National Bank not calling the users of payment cards and not ask details of payment cards or passwords to Internet banking. Neither the security service of the NBU, nor the leadership of the NBU do not have the need and authority to ask Ukrainians about the data of their payment cards and accounts,” reads the official website of the NBU in Facebook.

The national Bank urged Ukrainians to be careful and protect their money from cyberhawks.

We will remind, in Ukraine 2016 63% of all cases of thefts with the use of payment instruments accounted for Internet fraud. Another 24% of the thefts were committed at ATMs, 9% — through the Internet-banking and 4% through POS-terminals (acquiring network).
