Tymoshenko said that trump clearly understands what is happening in Ukraine

The leader of the faction “Batkivshchyna” Yulia Tymoshenko noted that the President of the United States Donald trump is well aware of what is happening in Ukraine, in particular, the situation in the Donbas and assured of the support of his party.

“I was very lucky that I had a short meeting with the President of the United States. I was very lucky that I had short conversations with other top officials of the state. And I can tell you that there is good information, because the President of the United States clearly understands what is happening, and assured him of full support of Ukraine”, – she said in the program “Svoboda words” on ICTV channel on Monday evening, talking about his trip to the United States.

Tymoshenko pointed out that a few days will be the official U.S. representative to the UN that Russia will not be lifted sanctions, while Ukraine will not return Crimea. “Even we are not talking about what is happening in the Donbass, and even deeper, that sanctions will not be lifted until Ukraine will return the Crimea”, – she said.

The leader of “Batkivshchyna” noted that at meetings with representatives of the American ruling elite, the delegation of the party addressed a proposal to strengthen sanctions against Russia. “Because if in three years, these sanctions are not forced to retreat, it means that it is absolutely necessary for their strengthening”, – she explained.

“We asked, finally, to perform the guarantees that were provided by the Budapest Memorandum, and to give Ukraine defensive weapons, that it was not just one-sided murder that we had the opportunity to create a modern efficient army,” – said Tymoshenko.

Earlier, the White house declined to comment on the meeting, but explained that the President and former Prime Minister of Ukraine had a short informal meeting, and the US still concerned over violence in the East of Ukraine.

We will remind, on Thursday the U.S. permanent representative to the UN, Nikki Haley during his first speech in the UN Security Council reiterated the position of the new U.S. administration on the Russian aggression.
