European Commissioner for European neighbourhood policy Johannes Hahn said that the reason for the lifting of sanctions against Russia yet. He reported about it in interview “Radio Freedom” after a meeting of the Council of Ministers of foreign Affairs of the European Union on 6 February in Brussels.
“The sanctions were imposed because of a violation of international law, and the situation has not changed,” said Khan.
According to Khan, the future of sanctions against Russia related to the implementation of the Minsk agreements, which is not.
“I don’t see any grounds for lifting sanctions,” – said Khan.
It was previously reported that the EU plans to extend sanctions against several Russian citizens for another six months.
