Poroshenko: peace in the black sea region is a joint task for Ukraine and Turkey

The President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko in his congratulatory message to President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan in connection with the 25th anniversary of the establishment of the Ukrainian-Turkish diplomatic relations, noted that the peace in the Black sea region is a joint task for Ukraine and Turkey.

As informs on Friday a press-service of the President of Ukraine, in his congratulatory message to President of Turkey emphasized that a solid Foundation of the Ukrainian-Turkish relations are friendly relations between the two peoples that go back many centuries, and in the last 25 years, bilateral relations have gained depth.

“Turkey has demonstrated in practice its adherence to the basic principles of international law and solidarity with Ukraine in condemning Russian occupation of Crimea and attempt to Annex part of Ukrainian sovereign territory. In this context I want to emphasize that the achievement of peace in the Black sea region is a joint vital task of Ukraine and Turkey,” – said in greeting.

Poroshenko noted that expansion of cooperation in trade-economic sphere between the two countries will promote the signing of the agreement on free trade zone.

He also recalled that the two countries have moved to implement projects in the military-industrial complex.

In turn, Erdogan in his congratulatory message, Clinton noted that the challenges the two countries faced at the regional and international levels, “proved once again that the Turkish-Ukrainian friendship is based on a solid Foundation, and our cooperation has deepened even more in every industry.”

“Without a doubt, our excellent friendly relations with Ukraine will continue to develop in the near future. Turkey, undoubtedly, will support the solution of problems in the region based on preservation of the territorial integrity and sovereignty of our strategic partner of Ukraine”, – said the President of Turkey and expressed hope that his visit to Ukraine, which is planned in the coming months will give new impetus to the relations.
