In Ukraine began the process of gradual reduction of prices of medicines from cardiovascular disease, type II diabetes and bronchial asthma. Since early February, sellers should reduce the prices of these drugs by 15 – 30%, the press service of the Cabinet of Ministers.
At discount prices will be sold medications, which came into pharmacy after 1 Feb.
The decline in prices, according to the plan of the Cabinet, will run until April 2017 when the program starts the reimbursement of the cost of drugs.
“Since February, 2017 the business entities engaged in manufacturing, wholesale and retail trade of medicines from cardiovascular disease, type II diabetes and asthma, has reduced drug prices by an average of 15 – 30%. The next stage of reduction of prices for these medicines will be held in March. Thus, the prices of medicines in Ukraine will be gradually reduced to the level of drug prices in the neighbouring countries (reference country) – Poland, Slovakia, Hungary, the Czech Republic, and Latvia,” – said in the Cabinet.
The government has forecast that a gradual decline in prices for medicines will provide a comfortable transition to the state regulation of prices for medicines and implementation of recovery programmes, their cost, and to avoid the shortage of medicines.
We will remind, in Ukraine, reduced prices on 89 drugs from the list of drugs that the Ministry of health of Ukraine set the limit wholesale prices.
