The President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko during a meeting of the Council of national security and defense Council (NSDC) noted the need to increase exports of Ukrainian weapons of its own production and development update program production Fund of defense companies. “We must support the growing demand for Ukrainian weapons of its own production. Emphasize that we do not sell, unlike some (previous – press service) the mountain of the Ministers of defence and those who took the relevant decisions. We today firmly and convincingly conquer the market with weapons that are produced in Ukraine”, – said the head of state.
The President recalled that the domestic defense order is performed on production assets, the level of wear is 67%, and some companies – 80%.
“Please elaborate, as I instructed, the program of renovation of production funds. Without modern manufacturing facilities, we are not going to be able to compete effectively in the global market and to provide at the expense of foreign orders the modernization and development of new weapons systems. So, as we are doing now at leading companies of the defense industry in our renowned design Bureau in the missile industry, aircraft, armored vehicles,” – said Poroshenko.
“Only thanks to export contracts advanced Ukrainian developments do not end up in boxes, and they’re about 2% of the total exports of Ukraine. And objectives we set this rate to increase as a source of foreign exchange earnings,” – said the President.
Poroshenko noted that the export allows you to scale production, to invest in new technologies and machines to train people and to provide the army with necessary weapons.
