The national security Council and defence of Ukraine (NSDC) under the chairmanship of the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko examined the state defense order for 2017. About it reports a press-service of the head of state.
In the beginning of the meeting Poroshenko said that the formation of the order this year should be taken into account all the flaws that have taken place in 2016.
“The state defense orders for 2017 we must create a solid accounting of the shortcomings that a little defense order 2016. First of all, emphasize that 81% of the state defense order is the General Fund budget. And we firmly believe that today this 81% is guaranteed to be funded,” – said Poroshenko.
“In money terms – about 9 billion UAH, – it means the General Fund budget in 2017, and the financing must start now,” – said the head of state.
The President also announced that pursuant to its order of forming the state defense order will be implemented for at least three years.
“To be able to implement the latest developments of the Ukrainian military-industrial complex and the Ukrainian designers, having a good reputation, authority in the army, and on the international market”, – said Poroshenko.
The head of state called it is a fair offer for the purchase of samples of arms and military equipment in an amount to provide the so-called “wholesale re-equipment” of individual units.
According to the President, much discussion in the formation of the state defense order raised questions about what you need to buy.
“We have become the choice of one “Hold,” or ten deeply modernized and repaired T-64 or T-80. And “Stronghold” is built faster in 18 months, and the cycle of deep modernization of T-80 is 2.5 months. Thus, the question arises: or tank company at full strength, or one tank,” – said Poroshenko.
According to him, while you have the resource, you need to urgently carry out a profound modernization of these tanks: “we need first and foremost to provide a tank unit in full absolute set of deeply modernized, overhauled machines in a very short time”.
