The President of Ukraine for the first time in 11 years has arrived with official visit to Helsinki, Finland.
“We particularly honor and symbolism that Ukraine is the first country which is making an official visit to the one-hundredth anniversary of the independence of the Republic of Finland”, – said Poroshenko.
The President noted that Ukraine and Finland are not only a 100-year tradition of cooperation, shared values, but also the experience of confronting an external aggressor.
“You know better than most of Ukraine. And best of all this understanding today, in the context of the ongoing hybrid war of Russia against Ukraine. I would like to thank you personally for an absolutely clear position of support for the sovereignty, territorial integrity and independence of our state. I am grateful for the fact that Finland stands firmly on its position to maintain sanctions against the Russian Federation until the full implementation of the Minsk agreements”, – he said.
“We discussed a number of other issues. And I personally expressed full support to President Niinistö and willingness to join the activities of the Centre for combating hybrid threats in Helsinki. Because every day, overcoming hybrid threat, unfortunately, Ukraine receives almost the best experience in the world – and it can be helpful to our European partners”, – said Poroshenko.
As you know, Finland, like many other countries condemned the annexation of Crimea by Russia.
