Most of all, Estonia is helping Ukraine in terms of per capita – Poroshenko

The President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko, who arrived today in Estonia, noted that this visit takes place in the first months of the stay of the President of this country, Kirsty Kaljulaid in office. According to him, it symbolizes the attention the priority that Estonia provides to relations with Ukraine.

“Estonia today is a country that is most helpful to Ukraine in terms of per capita. Grateful for 40 Ukrainian soldiers who have been rehabilitated in the best medical institutions of Estonia. It is also a form of support that we really appreciate,” – said Poroshenko.

The President noted that the firm position of Estonia with the EU support for the sovereignty, territorial integrity and independence of Ukraine, the position of non-recognition of the illegal annexation of Crimea by the Russian Federation, the position of decisive condemnation of Russian aggression against Ukraine, which is happening in the Donbas are those positions for which Kiev is very grateful and which will strengthen the strategic Alliance between the two countries.

The Ukrainian head of state thanked Estonia for their cooperation in the security sphere, including in the format of NATO, Estonia’s participation in the NATO trust Fund for cooperation in cybersecurity, assistance in setting up e-governance.

“In Ukraine, the efforts of Estonia welcomed to the presidential Administration, the government of Ukraine, where, thanks to the support and cooperation considerably progressed electronic administration”, – he said.

In addition, the President expressed his gratitude to Estonia for their work in special monitoring mission of the OSCE, for the powerful support for the rapid adoption of a visa-free regime, for the position of speeding up the ratification of the Association Agreement, granting Ukraine macro-financial assistance.

Poroshenko and Kaljulaid discussed the issues of improving the investment climate in Ukraine and accelerate the meeting of the intergovernmental Estonian-Ukrainian Commission for promoting economic cooperation. The parties also discussed first steps and the agenda of the Estonian leadership in the EU “is ready to implement some steps to make it as efficient as possible”.
In this case Poroshenko has invited the President of Estonia to Ukraine.
