The President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko believes that the decision in the case of “debt Yanukovych” will be positive for Ukraine. He said this in Davos, while staying at the world economic forum, reports RIA Novosti.
He noted that Ukraine will trust the British court in the matter of justice.
“I think it will be a positive decision. We trust the British court”, — said Poroshenko, answering the question about expectations on the future decision of the court.
As reported, on 17 January, the High court of England and Wales began hearings on the “debt of Yanukovych”. We are talking about the 3 billion dollar loan from the Russian Federation, which the Ukrainian authorities received in December 2013.
On 19 January, a High court judge in London William Blair, hearing the case on “duty of Yanukovych,” took a break to render its verdict.
Recall that Mykola Azarov’s government received a loan of $ 3 billion in the framework of agreements between Russian President Vladimir Putin and then-President Viktor Yanukovych in December 2013.
In 2015, the Russian side has demanded the return of the debt, not accepting a proposal of debt restructuring. The Ukrainian authorities refused to recognize the duty official.
